Finished my first triathlon!

Two years after my amputation, on September 3rd, 2018, I competed in my first ever triathlon.

Well, I didn’t really compete but finished! Proof is in the sign in this picture. In fact, I finished in first place. Okay, it was the novice category and I was the single participant in the 60 and over age group! The point is, there are many more triathlons on the horizon where I expect to compete. From my amputation to that day, I had lost more than thirty pounds and regained much of the strength I had before my back-fusion surgery in 2006.
